There is one true God who is
perfect in all His ways, existing throughout eternity as the Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit ( Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 5:48, Matthew 28:19 ).
Jesus
Christ is truly God and truly man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary. He willingly became the sinless
substitutionary sacrifice for the redemption of fallen mankind.
After rising from the dead and ascending to heaven, He took His place at
the right hand of the Father as our great High Priest and intercessor.
He will come again to establish His kingdom ( Matthew 1:22-23, 1 John 2:2,
Romans 8:34, Mark 13:26 ).
The Holy Spirit is the third person of
the Trinity who fills and dwells within each believer to comfort, guide, and
instruct them. Through Him believers are gifted and empowered to serve others and
live lives that bring glory to God. He also reveals God's righteousness
and judgement to the world and convicts us of our sin ( John 16:8-15,
Luke 12:12, Luke 24:49 ).
The Bible, as inspired by God, was
without error in its original form. It serves as the only true standard
for judging doctrine and rules governing the practice of Christian living.
It is the complete revelation of God's eternal truth for His people
( 2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Timothy 3:16-17 ).
Man was originally created in the image
of God. His fall through disobedience to God incurred the penalty of
physical and spiritual death. It is impossible for man to regain
right-standing before God through his own effort
( Genesis 1:27, 1 Corinthians 15:21-22 ).
The only redemption for mankind was
made possible through Jesus' death on the cross. All who truly repent
and believe in Him are born again of the Holy Spirit and called the children of
God. Just as He arose from the dead, all who overcome will be resurrected
into eternal life ( 1 John 1:7-9, John 1:12, Titus 3:4-7 ).
Jesus Christ is the Head of the Body, the
Church, which consists of all true believers throughout the earth.
The local church is a body of believers who have been brought together to
worship, pray, encourage, proclaim the gospel, and observe the ordinances of
Baptism and the Lord's Supper ( Psalm 118:22, Ephesians 1:22-23, Matthew
28:19-20, Acts 2:46-47 ).
